1. Our commitment
SketchForge is committed to making its website, account experience, and browser-based 3D editor usable by as many people as possible, including people who use keyboards, screen readers, magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology. Accessibility is an ongoing part of design, development, testing, and maintenance.
2. Accessibility standard
Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG describes ways to make web content more perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people with disabilities.
3. Measures we take
- Use semantic page structure, descriptive headings, labels, and accessible names.
- Support keyboard navigation and visible focus indicators in standard website and account interfaces.
- Use status messages and dialog semantics for important editor and Cloud actions where available.
- Review colour contrast, responsive layouts, text scaling, and reduced-motion needs as features change.
- Track accessibility barriers and improve shared components instead of treating accessibility as a one-time task.
4. Current limitations
The following areas may not yet provide an equivalent experience for every user:
- 3D workspace: the interactive canvas and visual model may not expose every object, dimension, selection, or spatial relationship to screen readers.
- Pointer-based editing: some camera, positioning, sketching, resizing, and drag interactions may not yet have complete keyboard or voice-control alternatives.
- Complex controls: parts of the editor may require additional focus management, accessible descriptions, or announcements when values and selections change.
- User-provided files: imported models do not automatically include meaningful text descriptions of their geometry.
- Testing coverage: compatibility has not yet been comprehensively tested across all combinations of browsers, operating systems, screen readers, magnifiers, switch devices, and voice-control software.
We are documenting and addressing these limitations as the editor develops. If a task is blocked, report it using the feedback method below so we can discuss an available alternative.
5. Technical requirements
SketchForge relies on modern HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SVG, WebGL, WebAssembly, and WAI-ARIA. The 3D editor requires JavaScript, WebGL, and WebAssembly. For the best experience, use a current version of a major browser and keep your browser and assistive technology updated.
6. Assessment approach
The current statement is based on developer self-evaluation and review of implemented interface semantics. SketchForge has not yet completed a formal WCAG conformance evaluation or independent audit. The statement will be updated when testing identifies new barriers or verifies material improvements.
7. Feedback and assistance
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, open an accessibility report through the SketchForge GitHub issue tracker. Include the page or feature, what you were trying to do, your browser, operating system, and assistive technology where you are comfortable sharing them. Do not include passwords, payment information, private projects, or other sensitive information in a public issue.
8. Statement updates
This statement applies to the SketchForge website, free browser demo, and SketchForge Cloud. It will be reviewed as the service changes and after significant accessibility testing or remediation work.
